On this page, you will find guidelines to apply for local chapter directorship. If you are unsure about leading a chapter, visit the general information page for suggestions on other ways to be involved.

Chapter directors are responsible for:

  • researching and contacting each facility to set up each event (two per year per facility),
  • soliciting donations and sponsors for party supplies and favors,
  • providing volunteers for each event,
  • staying in contact with the central office. This includes notification of planned events, party summaries and photos after each event, and monthly accounting reports.
  • fundraising (approval needed from central office prior to event),
  • thank you notes to sponsors/donors,
  • upholding the Queen for a Day reputation for professionalism within the community.

Directorship requires commitment, organization, and motivation. Not only is each local director responsible to the central office, but directors are responsible for building relationships between Queen for a Day and the community, to the volunteers and to the children they will touch. Therefore, the utmost in professionalism is expected from a local director. Please note, chapter directors must be at least 21 years of age.

Applicants may be contacted for a phone interview. If chosen as director for your area, a contract will be customized for your specified facility. Once the contract is received, a Policy and Procedure Manual  will be sent detailing the guidelines and commitment involved with the program as well as suggestions and examples from other chapters on creative ideas and fundraising.

When applying for directorship, please consider your availability to commit your time and energy to this growing organization.
